DNA
from bacteria and human cells in the same sample
Cells
from gingival sulcus have a bacterial and human origin. Human cells are
polymorphonuclear leukocytes, specially neutrophile, and descamated keratinocytes.
This fact allows to carry out microbiological and genetic assays from
an unique sample.
This is a great advance in developing new oral biology based diagnostic
methods in Dentistry.
